But a druid is more like a priest and not a nymph! The armor looks nice, it just doesn´t fit the profession! And I don´t think ANet should cater to the needs of people that didn´t hit puberty by now!
And it most certainly doesn´t belong in a RPG!

Hmm... seeing as how proper druid armor from the lands we now call Britain would be kinda like the monks tatoos without the diaper/loin cloth... uhm... it's more Druid like then the non-15k set.
Driuds are NOT preists in the sense of a church, but in a sense of nature. Wearing bulky clothing is not in the doctrine, but more 'natural' wears are.
Personally my characters are now broke after just buying 15k for my Ele... but the ranger is next.

I actually dont mind the 15k druids. It gives the rangers more a savage look... And, if your thinking realistically, it must be much easier to move in that armor.
As well, i've already had people ask for my picture :S
Anyways, here they are:

When I look at a female ranger with that armor, my first thought isnt ranger. And I dont know why. I think its because its more of the amazon look, but if you thought of an amazon super woman or something, you would think warrior. So I find it unfitting.
The males however, once you get used to it (And use black dye) its kind of cool. Looks like your one of the Minute Men or something. And when you got the mask on, you look like an assasin. Well atleast my character looks that way, the face and hair mean everything with this armor. And I no longer look like a bean pod from the back.
If it were up to me I would change everything but the males druids. Cause the males gladiator is eww.

After messing around with all different colour mix, I finally got something that I like.
Black everywhere except the boots(I'm broke ) and Yellow+Silver for vest(it looks lighter tan than the dye remover's colour and also blends with my hair )

So a priest in sense of nature implies running around half naked? Do the druids in NWN run around halfnaked? Do you actually think that a real female druid would run around half naked? This is a RPG, not a game about beach volleyball!
Any proof for the looks of druid armor in Britain?

Druids were not savages! They were in fact the complete opposite! The were sages and priests, who had a high rank in celtic society!

Dude, I'm a practising Petti Wittan, of which a Druid would be a priest. Yes... the Celts were NOT at the same level as the Romans in using metal for armor or anything like that. And typical wear for them coverd just the esencials. They didn't wear long flowing robes or anything like that.
The Picts, Guals, Breetons and that, before the Roman invasions wore completely differnt clothes and were noted by Roman historians for dressing like "Savages". Sometimes they only covered themselves with skin dye, made from clay and such. They'd draw designs on the bodies and wear a loincloth for ceremonies.
Sages and Preist they may be, but at the height of druidic europe, they were only a few hundred years ahead of the Native American's on our side of the water. They didn't get 'civilized' (harsh word meaning broken in their ways) until the Romans came to their land and took it over for the most part.
The one good thing form the last King Arthur movie... Look at the Picts that Guenivier and Merlin are denoted as being members of... those were the Celtic people... and yes, that Gwen wore less then the GW druid armor, that's for sure.
But as much as that movie is camp... the costuming was highly acurate for that time period.

I never said that they wore robes!

Could it be that some Picts and so on, were dressed different to show their social status?

How do you know that the movie is accurate? Please, give a viable source! Is there a male druid show in the movie, is the difference between male and female dresses equally huge as in the game?

If we are going to operate on the Merlin/Guinevere model (which admittedly the female 15k seems to at least resemble), then the male should be *much* less bulky than the female set.

Actually, when an NwN druid polymorphs, they tend to be completely naked. Besides which, if you had a head for customisation in NwN it was relatively simple to design outfits of dental floss with full Armor value.

Yes. But if I recall, in popular (read: not neccesarily accurate) druid mythology, the females tended to be the ones getting sacrificed. Don't need to wear a stitch for that druidic role.

This is a fantasy game, not interactive RL semantics. Fantasy, you know, that stuff that's seperated from reality by dint of it being fictitious? Bloody hell, if you argue about the likelyhood of some amazonian girl in a leather bikini described as 'druidic' I really do have to wonder where you stand on people raising the dead and casting meteors from the heavens...

There is a difference between official and inofficial! Nobody can stop you , from drawing a female ranger that is nearly or completly nude! But something like that should not be introduced from the offical source!

You are talking about sacrifices! I am talking about the druid itself! The druid was not the one who was sacrificed, she was the one who did the sacrificing!

Yes, this is a fighting fantasy game! I want people to look like they are trying to fight and protect their body!
Raising dead and casting meteor is fantasy, but fantasy, imo, doesn´t include running around half naked fighting monsters!
